School Time Yoga provides a fun incursion program that will have EVERY student moving and stretching as they play their way through a one hour yoga class.

What is a School Time Yoga Incursion?
Sessions run for 60 minutes and are a fun combination of breathing exercises, modified and traditional yoga postures, partner and group poses, basic acrobatics (Year 4+) games/drama stories/movement & dance to reinforce learnt postures and relaxation through guided imagery or peer massage.
Schools may elect to do a one off incursion for a single class, year level or whole school or a series of classes to allow students a chance to develop and further enjoy the benefits. All incursions are designed to introduce students to yoga in a fun, non competitive class. Our ‘partner yoga’ classes are perhaps our most popular as they encourage students to work together with their peers and develop trust and respect for each other.
Sessions can be themed to compliment current topics being discussed and explored such as Under the Sea, At the Beach, Healthy MInd/Healthy Body, Space, Friendship, Working together, Olympics, Transport, Amazing Amazon Rainforest, The Circus, Playground or Healthy Eating. Sessions can cater to ANY theme, so don’t feel limited!
Themed classes engage children by having them use their prior (or new!) knowledge of the topic to move their bodies into different positions. For example an Amazing Amazon themed class, will have children become animals from the three layers of a rainforest (river, forest floor and canopy) some as individuals while others are in pairs or small groups. Throughout the session, postures are reinforced in games. A final guided imagery, guided peer massage will complete the session.
All yoga mats, music and props are provided. All we need is a large, cleared space and a few minutes to set up!
